And we’re back!

I think there’s something about the two week mark that makes me anxious to go home, on any long-term trip, school, etc. Just an observation.

Day 16: the storms are finally settling down and it’s supposed to be in the 90s for the rest of the week. Many of my family and friends have checked on me on social media, and all is well!

In our morning class session, we had a chinese symbol writing contest. We all had to copy a poem that was written on the board and our “sister class” (section A, we’re in section B) graded our writings. I didn’t win. I didn’t even get any votes. I know my writing was good…but oh well! In our afternoon session we went over language again. During class, our teacher began asking us about the food we’ve eaten so far and we told her it wasn’t the greatest at the canteen. “The canteen?! That’s why!” She responds. She told us the canteen food isn’t authentic nor an accurate representation of Chinese food, it’s just convenient and cheap.

Though this was already our assumption, we all let out a sigh of relief. She proceeded to tell us about an amazing dumpling place then we convinced her to take us after class. It was so good!

Here’s to finding better food.

再见 (Bye)!
