Travel Blog #8: Tired

Rise and shine!
I find it very odd that I can go to bed at the same time on different days but wake up feeling exhausted on one morning and energized on the other. I guess I’m still trying to adjust to the time difference.
Day 8: yesterday was tiring. I didn’t do much but I was sleepy all day, and I just woke up and I’m still tired. In class, we went over more material on language. I’m beginning to get discouraged because I’m not grasping the language and most of my counterparts are. Our teacher said that a lot of Chinese people take a long time to grasp the language as well because it’s so complex and there are multiple dialects and a wide range of characters in addition to normal words in the mandarin language.

For the first time, I was satisfied with my lunch! I had beef and rice and it was pretty good. Though I was satisfied, I’ve still come up with the conclusion that campus cafeteria food in all countries isn’t good, lol. After lunch, we had a Kung Fu class. It was so fun! In addition to the traditional Kung Fu, we learned another type that’s more relaxing.
For dinner, Damian, Inni, myself and a few of their friends went to a restaurant that served “western food,” you know, food that we’re used to. I had pizza and it was pretty good. Afterwards, it seemed like we all had a sweet tooth. We decided to walk to a nearby McDonald’s to get McFlurrys. I actually wanted an apple pie, but they didn’t have them!
Tired or not, I’m still in China so I’m going to make the best out of this experience!
再见 (Bye)!
Kyla
