Travel Blog #9: Fun Times

Good morning, good morning!

It’s yet another day here in Beijing, and I’m still in awe that I’m actually here!

Day 9: yesterday was a fun day. As I said in my previous post, I’m still adjusting to the time difference, I was pretty tired for most of the day. In our morning and afternoon class sessions, we went over language. Our main focus was on conducting conversations. We even had a competition to see what pair in the class could conduct the best conversation, Danielle and I competed together but we didn’t win. It was very fun though!

After class, Veronica and I went to our room to prepare to take a nap, because we were tired. Next think you know, Funsho comes to our door knocking, and invites us to go to the mall. Though it was an invite, she more or less told us that we were coming. Whenever that happens, Veronica and I essentially use YOLO, but we say we’re in China (WIC? Lol!)

This mall was HUGE. It had a grocery store, five floors, an outside strip mall and another mall across the street. It was every mall lover’s dream come true. We stayed at the mall for multiple hours, just taking it all in. We ate dinner at a Korean BBQ restaurant. It was good, but I’ve had better.

The weather has been holding up here, for the most part, but unfortunately the storms from Japan are moving toward us, so it’s going to be raining and storming for the next four days.
